Board Certified Oral Surgeon Dr. Christopher Cook
Dr. Christopher Cook was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he graduated with magna cum lade with a degree in Biology.
After graduation, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He graduated dental school with honors, which is a distinction given the top 5% of the class. It was during his time at ECU and mentorship from great faculty that he found his calling to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Dr. Cook continued his training in Baltimore, MD where he went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine (M.D) from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine. He also completed a general surgery internship at University of Maryland Medical Center after which he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
During Dr. Cook’s surgical training he had extensive exposure to outpatient ambulatory anesthesia, dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), maxillofacial trauma, reconstructive surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery as well as benign pathology. He currently maintains hospital privileges at UNC Rex system.
Dr. Cook is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also volunteers at Wake Smiles providing free dentoalveolar surgery to under-resourced patients living in Wake County area.
Dr. Cook is married to his wife Kathleen and they have a daughter, Avery. In his free time Dr. Cook enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time outdoors.
